Edit Your Photos With Adobe Photoshop – Simple Ways to Make Them Look Professional

Do you love photography so much but you just can’t seem to produce great looking photos? Do you want your amateur looking photos to look like it was taken by professional photographers? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you will need the Adobe Photoshop.

First of all, you need to remember that most professional photographers today use Adobe Photoshop to edit the digital photos they take. You need to remember that not every photo they take is perfect and some will have the common mistakes in photography, such as the red-eye phenomenon, finger over the lens syndrome and even the hand shake syndrome. Poor exposure is another enemy of photographers.

Whatever it is, professional photographers are able to fix these mistakes by just using Adobe Photoshop. In fact, some professional photographers even edit the photos they take of models with Adobe Photoshop. If you read magazines, and you noticed the near-perfect bodies of models and very smooth skin, then you have an idea on how professional photographers manipulate the photos they take with Adobe Photoshop. For example, if you take pictures of someone who has an ugly looking zit on their face, then you will be able to make their face look perfect by removing the zit or pimple with Adobe Photoshop. In fact, you can even use Adobe Photoshop to make someone fat look like a supermodel.

Here are some of the basic ways on how you can make the photos you take look more professional.

The first is by eliminating the red eye from the photos. You need to remember that even if you are using the latest SLR digital camera with red eye reduction, it will still happen. Adobe Photoshop has red eye tool that will identify and completely remove the appearance of the red eye from the photos you take. It will even remove the red eyes from your pet cat or dog.

Secondly, you will be able to create brighter and clearer photos with more vibrant colors. Adobe Photoshop is meant to be a tool to help clean up an image as well as improve its appearance. With the color enhancing tools and adjust brightness and contrast tools, you will be able to turn dark photos in to something that looks like it was taken in perfect lighting condition. Basically, the tool will allow you to manually adjust the image’s color settings that will result in the sharpest and cleanest appearance of the image as possible.

Another great editing feature of Adobe Photoshop is that it will even allow you to remove unwanted objects in the photos you already took. For example, if a seemingly perfect photo was just ruined by a trash can on the background, you can easily remove the trash can and replace it with something else as if the trash can wasnâEUR(TM)t even there at all when you took the picture. You can even crop out people from the photos you take and even replace the background.

These are just some of the great things that you can do with Adobe Photoshop. As you can see, even an amateur photographer like you will be able to take professional looking pictures. With the help of Adobe Photoshop, you will be able to make your photos look as if it was taken by a professional photographer.

Adobe Photoshop Jobs

Since you are looking for information on Adobe Photoshop, it would be easier to assume that you know what it is. However, to be on the safe side, it is better to put in a word. Adobe Photoshop is a family of products for working with digital images, for transforming and showcasing them in different ways. The products are created and marketed by Adobe Systems Incorporated. The family includes [a] Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended, targeted for interactive designers, web designers, cross-media designers, and video professionals; [b] Adobe Photoshop CS5, targeted for print designers, and photographers; [c] Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, targeted for amateur photographers and professional photographers. Adobe claims that the Photoshop CS5 together with Lightroom 3 will provide a total solution for managing, processing, importing, and showcasing your images. The duo can also perform pixel-level composing and editing.

The idea in giving all the details above was to make you aware of the breadth of the products under the common terms Adobe Photoshop or simply Photoshop, so that you can review your expertise and slot your potential in the proper orientation.

Career opportunities for people with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop are simply humongous. An extremely tiny slice of the job opportunities available would be as digital media specialists, graphic designers, advertising designers, desktop publishers, print media producers, web designers, digital artists, etc., etc.

A graphic designer would be more involved with the specific processes of the actual design, whereas a desktop publisher will be focusing on the more editorial aspects the design such as brochures, logos, letterheads, photo prints, and photo frames, etc.

If you are trying for the desktop publishing jobs, apart from Photoshop, which will be your main tool, you may be required to have knowledge of other programs like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Quark Xpress, and Adobe Acrobat. You will need to be extremely proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop, in getting projects completed and prepared for print or other outputs. If you are really serious about desktop publishing, you will need to master the entire CS2 suite along with Quark Xpress. The latter is meant for layout designs in magazines, corporate publishing, typesetting, and ad agencies.

Other fields like web content creation may require the use of other programs like Macromedia and Flash along with Photoshop. Whether to work independently as a freelancer or as in a more traditional job, is entirely up to you, but the opportunities available to a person with full Photoshop proficiency are really too many:

Multimedia Production specialist, Media Group partner/outsourced, Internet Marketing and Advertising Consultant, Promotions Department, Nightclub Promotion, Computer Consultant, Product Design Department, Web Consultant, Web content provider, Copy Shop, Digital Print Shop, Freelance Graphic Artist, Record Label ad design department, Freelance Web Template Design, Web Template Design, Magazine Layout & Publishing, Web Design Agency, Multimedia Production Agency, Research & development (project dependent), Professional photo retouching agency, Professional photo restoration agency, Fashion studio photographer, Fashion marketing, Professional photographer assistant, Photo restoration house, Corporate image consulting, Corporate branding project, Graphic Design Agency, Multimedia or Digital Education, Video post house, Freelance Photographer, Independent Business Owner, Marketing/Image Consultant, Film marketing firm or distributor, Printer or Publishing Agency, Advertising Departments, Product Marketing & Design departments, Corporate Marketing or Publishing Departments, Modeling Agency, Fashion photography retoucher, Flyer, brochure & printing agency, Advertising Design Agency, Advertising Agency, Fulfillment house, etc.

A Review of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0

Adobe has really pulled out all the stops to come up with a really good photo workflow management tool that is unsurpassed in the market at the moment. I find that managing digital photos and the digital photography ‘workflow’ (i.e. image capture, editing, sharing) is a tedious task.

There are not many software tools out there to help manage your digital photos yet provide in-depth editing capabilities.

Adobe Photoshop Elements provides some capabilities, but it is essentially a ‘lightweight’ program that is more suitable for novices. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 compares well with ACDSee, which is a more ‘prosumer’ image editing and digital photo workflow program.

1. Introduction
What is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom? Well, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is ‘a tool to simplify photography from shoot to finish’. At least that is what the sales literature says. On the whole, the software does a good job in fulfilling that promise. With modules like Library, Develop, Slideshow, Web, and Print, you can do basically anything you want to a digital photo in the program. The Library and Develop modules are the meat of the program, while the rest are more secondary features.

2. The Library Module
The Library Module in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 is the part of the program where all images are displayed and managed. If you want a bird’s eye view of all the digital photos in your system, this is where you lay it all out.

This is a good feature, but I do find it slightly less intuitive than Apple’s iPhoto – which is first-class in its ability to navigate thousands of photos at once. The Library Module allows you to use multiple monitors to display photos if you so wish.

3. The Develop Module
If you’re interested in non-destructive editing of JPEG, TIFF, PSD, DNG (and more than 200 camera RAW formats), then Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the tool for you.

One thing good about Adobe’s products is their intensive integration with Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is no exception – you can easily search and find images, then edit them with full integration to the larger Adobe Photoshop editing program. Lightroom lets you very easily edit images with some built-in functions of its own. But for more heavy duty image editing and layering effects, you should still use Adobe Photoshop.

4. The Slideshow Module
What good is a digital image workflow program if it does not allow you to create photo slideshows to share with others? Well, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 allows you to easily do that. You’ll be amazed by the simple point-and-click way in which you can set up a bunch of digital photos to be incorporated into a slideshow. You can then burn those slideshows onto CD or DVD if you wish.

However, I do find that the slideshow capabilities not as intuitive and simple as Ulead CD & DVD PictureShow (which is THE tool I use on a day-to-day basis to cut out quick DVD copies of my photos for my friends and family).

5. The Web Module
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom also allows you to send your digital photos off to the web to show a client (or anyone else) pictures online. This is a good way to share your photos if you’ve got an broadband access to the Internet. Of course, nothing beats setting up your own domain and setting up a digital photo website or getting an account with a professional photo sharing community like Smugmug.

6. The Print Module
Ok, the final module we will look at in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is the Print Module. The Print Module allows you to print out your photos in a variety of layouts. In Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0, print quality and versatility are improved over version 1.0. You can also print photos to JPEG format and there is a print sharpening system to create better looking prints. Of course, make sure you get a good photo printer for printing those pictures.

Conclusion
Well, and that’s it! I hope this article has given you some good insight into Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 and how it helps you as a digital photographer. Until next time, good luck to you and have a good time taking pictures!
